This coastal landscape is ancient with nearly all the rocks underlying its
land surface formed before the end of the Carboniferous period some 290 million years ago. The passing of time is visible in every twist and turn of the coastal path
that follows its rugged coastline. Constantly in flux as the elements continue to carve and reform it over time.
